Tout le monde peut participer et voter pour le quilt qu'on préfère. Il y a plusieurs catégories.
La règle est de faire un post pour le Festival donc vous allez revoir des quilts déjà vus...
This year, I decided to enter the Blogger's Quilt Festival organised by Amy Ellis.
This quilt enter in the Applique Quilt Category
I made it for Lou, my five-year-old niece.
The dress is one of her dresses. She was wearing it when she was 2 years old.
With the permission of the designer of this fabric, my husband played with his computer and transform the girl on the fabric to a drawing.
The girl is hand appliqué
The flowers and the birds are machine appliqué with embroidery stitches and "normal" stitches.
The beautiful quilting was made by Leslie Taylor.
I asked her to extend the curves of the hair for the top of the quilt and to quilt what she felt for the rest of the quilt. I love what she did. She made the quilting without the dress and I sew the dress after.
I love to make double side quilts. My first idea was to make only the side below. When I saw this beautiful, lovely and so feminine girl (she was 1 year old!) I decided to do the other side with the girl.
And Lou loves her quilt...
If you would like to see the process of the quilt, in French but with a lot of pictures : http://destulipesetdescoeurs.blogspot.nl/search/label/quilt%20Lou
Don't forget to admire the other quilts of the Festival and to vote from 25 to 30 of September for my quilt or for another one :-)
A bientôt :-) Take care.
